By clicking the link below, a map of the state of Michigan will be displayed with markers indicating the lakes where volunteers recorded their loon observations. You can pan, zoom in, or zoom out to focus on particular areas within Michigan. If you click on a marker, the name of the lake and the number of adult loons and the number of chicks/juvenile loons that we observed both on the day of the count as well as during the prior 2 weeks (recent) will be displayed. Starting in 2027 (the 2nd year for the Annual Count), you will be able to change the year to be displayed – allowing you to compare the counts.
