Volunteer Opportunities

The MLPA is dependent on volunteers to do most of our work. 

 

  • The board of directors make the day to day decisions about our operation and plans. We will have openings again soon for board positions.

  • Fundraising is an area that would be especially helpful to us at this time.

  • Volunteers are needed as "Loon Rangers", to monitor the loons on particular lakes and to educate the public on those lakes.

  • Educational talks are needed from time to time, throughout the state. We have prepared a PowerPoint presentation, so that a professional quality talk is ready to be given by our volunteers

  • Artificial Nesting Islands are sometimes offered where loons have failed to be successful repeatedly. We occasionally need volunteers to help construct these ANIs. (They should not be placed without permission from the area coordinator)

  • Loon Echoes is our quarterly newsletter. We always welcome articles and information. Writers are encouraged to submit to the editor anytime.
